While sitting at Nokomis beach watching the sunset with a friend one evening, Chip Nary decided that this beach would be the spot for a new drum circle to branch off from the circle on Siesta Key beach. They started it about 12 years ago. It began with just those two, but within 6 weeks, it had taken off.  “It’s the coolest thing.” says Nary. “It’s a delightful time at the beach. It’s always changing; so many people come and go over time. It’s something magical.”

Each year in December, the John and Mable Ringling museum holds its Holiday Splendor event. They opened their doors for the 9^th year in a row inviting the community to come visit free of charge. All they ask of the visitors is to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to the local U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for the Toys-for-Tots toy drive.
