Ferretti Group, an icon within the boating sector all over the world and a symbol of Italian flair, celebrated its 170th anniversary with a rich agenda of events taking place in the most enchanting places of the Italian and French Riviera. The event was also joined by the celebrations for the 50 years of the legendary Aquarama and the world premiere of the new 63′ Virtus.

 

The 63’ Virtus is a ‘open’ concept, with a typically Mediterranean style, maintaining the unique elegance of all Riva’s models: class, flair and clean shapes. This sociable aspect of the yacht enables owners to share the pleasure of driving the yacht with their guests. Moreover, it is protected by a large windshield with a double curve which ensures comfort while cruising. The cockpit is spacious, comfortable and equipped with a fridge, sink and – upon request – a grill. The Virtus has been designed following the lines of the Vertigo and strong attitude of the Rivale, both successful and classic models by Riva. The difference is improved wider spaces, with a higher liveableness and the utmost comfort on board. Featuring twin 1360mhp MAN 12V engines, 1000 kW at 2300 rpm/min, the new Riva 63′ VIRTUS delivers excellent performance, with a top speed of 40 knots and a cruise speed of 35 thanks to the tried and tested hull equipped with direct shaft line tunnel propulsion. Her ease of handling and smoothness over the waves are also excellent.

 

In an enchanting scenario of the ‘Golfo dei Poeti’ (Liguria), the whole Riva dealer network from all over the world had the pleasure to discover the new model, built at the historic shipyard in Sarnico. On the following day, from the port of Monte-Carlo the celebration was taking place, just before to the prestigious gala dinner for Riva owners. At the same time, from La Spezia the new 63’ Virtus was launched on a cruise to Saint Tropez. Attendees from all over the world came to enjoy the exclusive premiere of the new Riva 63’ Virtus. Taking place in the enchanting scenario of the dike of Saint Tropez; Riva scheduled this scenic location for the sea trials during the next several days.

 

During the occasion of the ‘Riva Trophy’, the 50th anniversary of Aquarama will also be celebrated. The peak moment was the gala dinner in Monte-Carlo organized by Monaco Boat Service, an historic Riva Dealer on the French Riviera.

 

Lasting several days, the Ferretti Group celebrated with the ‘Aquarama Parade’, bringing together the past and the future of Riva. It was a long parade in front of the Monaco Yacht Club opened by the 63’ Virtus; in honor to the 50 years of Aquarama, the icon of the shipyard and the symbol of the brand Riva during the unforgettable years of ‘Dolce Vita’.

 

Celebrations came to an end in the afternoon with the award ceremony of the ‘Riva Trophy’ and the closing moment from the three days of sea competitions. Such a wonderful celebration an launch of Riva’s new yacht.  

 

The elegant design of the 63’ Virtus is a direct result of the collaboration of three exclusive teams. Starting with Officina Italiana Design, they handle the design process of all the models of the Riva brand, AYT – Advanced Yacht Technology, is Ferretti Group’s research and naval design centre, and the Centro Stile Ferretti Group, a skilful team of architects and designers. Riva designed this as a craft featuring sporty characteristics, for owners who enjoy the elegance of a direct sea experience.
