Kicks Off Friday, June 15th

The Alliance for the Arts is bringing three genres of live music to the stage of the Foulds Theatre for an indoor summer concert series, kicking off on Friday, June 15th with the Bugtussle Ramblers bluegrass band.  The second show in July features several indie rock bands, and the series wraps up in August with some of this area’s best Singer/Songwriters…both still to be announced.  The series is presented in partnership with the Acoustic Music Society of Southwest Florida , Cool Hand Luc’s and the AmericanaCommunity Association.

The Bugtussle Ramblers are one of Southwest Florida’s most popular bluegrass bands.  They’re known for their energetic shows featuring Bob Shea’s guitar assisted humor, Karen Batten’s banjo virtuosity, Doug Gerdon’s creative mandolin and Doug Yearling’s solid upright bass.  The foursome has many years of musical performance between them, and has been playing together for two years.  Shows begin at 8:00PM and are open seating.  There is a $5 suggested donation.  Go to www.artinlee.org or call 239-939-2787 for more information.
