The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center presents Florida Gulf Coast University Theatre Lab’s “Faustus Burns Brightly,” a play written, directed and designed by Professor Barry Cavin. Performances are April 27 and 28 at the Davis, 2301 First Street in the River District, downtown Fort Myers.

The play incorporates Christopher Marlowe’s “Doctor Faustus” and centers on a group of recent college graduates who open a small theatre on the dingy streets of Hollywood. They decide to produce Marlowe’s “Doctor Faustus” as their opening show. Art and life blend when the young company’s funding secret leads to their Faustian bargains. The play is based on true events.

Shows begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10.
