The Marketing Committee for the Gulf Coast Shakespeare Festival is planning a special campaign to draw attention to the upcoming festival. The committee is seeking six actors for each of the following evenings (see below) to recite just ONE sililoquy or sonnet at various locations in Lee County (locations are secret and will be shared once six actors per date are signed up). Media will be covering each event and each event will take just two minutes of your time to make a huge impact!
If you are interested in performing in public settings towards marketing the Shakes Fest, please start by contacting Kathy at kathystobb@yahoo.com and letting her know which date(s) you will be available. Start times will be anywhere from 6 to 7:30pm. Your performance should be a solo piece from any Shakespeare play of your choosing. You can learn more than one piece if you wish; you may perform the same piece on more than one occasion if you wish. You can play any part that appeals to you, that you connect with, that you have always wanted to play. You can come up with whatever costume you wish. The piece should be a major speech or sonnet, lasting between one and three minutes. All you need is your piece, memorized and empassioned, and transportation to get to the secret location in Lee County.
I hope you will jump at this cool opportunity to show off your skill while also helping to advertise the upcoming Gulf Coast Shakespeare Festival!
Best Wishes – and please contact Kathy at kathystobb@yahoo.com to let her know of your interst and availability!
